About me and Cardigan Counselling & Psychotherapy

My name is Alysa (pronounced “ah-lisa”) Nichols, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a non-certified Professional Member in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology: Brain and Cognition from the University of Guelph and a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology: Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE).

I am truly passionate about supporting others in their mental health journey and am fascinated by the human brain and the ability to foster resiliency. I created Cardigan Counselling & Psychotherapy as a safe, respectful, compassionate, and judgement-free environment to explore how you’ve been feeling and to give space to the parts of your experience craving understanding and attention. Whether you have no idea of the exact reason drawing you to treatment or you have specific, concrete goals in mind, I will meet you where you are at and move at your pace.
